Sideline is published by Upcott Studios. This notice explains what the site does with information. It is written in plain language. It is not a substitute for legal advice.

Accounts

There are none. You cannot create a profile on Sideline, and we do not ask for your name, email, or payment card to read the directory.

Visit counter

The home page shows a small count of visits. Opening the home page sends a request that adds one to a single number stored on our server. We store that total and nothing else with it — no name, no message, no rough location. Your browser also keeps a note in session storage so the same tab does not add one on every click around the site. That note stays on your device. The count is there so we can see whether the site is used. It is not used to identify you.

Search

Filters for location, skill, and hours run in your browser. They are not sent to us as a profile. If you email us, we will have whatever you put in that email, and we will use it to reply.

Advertising

The site publishes an ads.txt file authorising Google AdSense, publisher ID pub-4446639715209525. If advertising is served, Google and its partners may use cookies to measure ads and, where allowed, to personalise them, under Google’s own policies. You can control ad personalisation from your Google account. We do not sell a list of readers, because we do not keep one.

Other sites

Listings link to company websites so you can sign up with them rather than with a copycat. The further reading page links to Amazon. Those sites have their own privacy notices. If you buy through an Amazon link, Amazon tells us that a sale happened, which is how an affiliate fee is paid, and Amazon’s own notice covers what they store about you. Share buttons open X, Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Reddit, or your email app, and those services then see that you chose to share the link.

Children

Sideline is written for adults looking for extra income. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this notice changes in a way that matters, the page will say so. Continued use of the site after an update is how you will see the current version — there is no account to email.
