Paid interviews

Respondent

Companies and researchers pay for an interview if you match a brief — a job, a hobby, a piece of software you use. Invitations are irregular. The pay for a matched hour is better than surveys.

Checked 22 September 2026. Figures are ranges, not offers.

Where
Mostly remote interviews. Many projects are limited to the United States. Other countries appear, but less often.
Hours
You apply, then you wait. A call is usually under an hour. This is not something you can schedule every Tuesday.
Pay
Matched interviews are often $50–200 for about an hour. Most applications get no reply.
To start
Free to create a profile. You are paid after the interview is confirmed. Never pay to be “featured” to researchers.

Why it is listed

The pay is stated up front, the time is bounded, and there is no membership.

What you can realistically expect

A specialised job title gets more invites than a blank profile. You might do one call a month. Plan for that, not for a pipeline.

Who pays you

The research project pays through Respondent. You should not be asked to buy a product in order to be paid, beyond something you already use.

How to start

  1. Sign up on respondent.io.
  2. Describe your real work and tools. Invented expertise gets you removed and wastes the researcher’s hour.
  3. Apply only where you match. Spray-applying does not help.
  4. Show up. A no-show can close the account.

  • Nobody from Respondent needs your bank login.
  • A study that asks you to recruit your friends for a cut is a different scheme. Skip it.
  • Do not pay for a “professional participant” profile rewrite.
