Small online classes for children

Outschool

Run a live online class for children — a subject, a hobby, or a club. You are paid when learners enrol. An empty class pays nothing, which is the honest risk.

Where
Online. Outschool has limited which countries may teach and be paid. Check the current teacher requirements before you design a term of lessons.
Hours
A class might be 45 minutes, plus preparation. Weekends and after-school US time zones are the busy window. Preparation is unpaid.
Pay
Teachers with a class that fills often cite roughly $20–70 an hour of teaching time — an empty section pays $0
To start
Applying is free. You need a way to teach on video. Outschool’s fee comes out of enrolment. Read the teacher payment page rather than a Facebook group’s summary.

Why it is listed

You are paid for a class you run, not for buying advertising from a guru. The company is identifiable.

What you can realistically expect

The first class may have one learner or none. A narrow topic (“beginner watercolour for 8–10s”) outperforms “fun with everything”.

Who pays you

Parents pay Outschool. You are paid for enrolments, on their payout schedule.

How to start

  1. Read the teacher country rules on outschool.com.
  2. Propose one class you could teach next week with materials a child already has.
  3. Write a description a parent can skim.
  4. Run it once before you build a catalogue of twelve.

  • Paid “Outschool course creators” are a side industry. You do not need one to apply.
  • Do not use copyrighted worksheets or characters you do not have rights to.
  • Background-check steps, if required, should come from Outschool’s own process.
